curriculum vitae ITA
Hi! I am Federica. I love creating contents, designing projects following all the steps: data and field research, definition of a concept, visual and technical development, from sketches to products, from photos to prototype, from videos to website, both to document the process or promote it.
I like both contact with data and with people.
I believe in targeting and at the same time in inclusive design.
What do I do? I’m currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Design at the University of Genoa, Department of Architecture and Design.
My research focuses on issues related to inclusion, partecupatory inclusive tools for Design, the normalisation of Assistive Technology connected to Interaction Design and New Media Arts. At the same time, I’ve been teaching, as a Lecturer, Design and Communication Principles for Multimedia and Interaction Design at the Digital Humanities Master Course at Savona University Campus. At the Department of Architecture and Design, I’ve been a teaching assistant in Design Fundamentals to the Product and Communication Design Bachelor Degree students, and in Service Design for the MsC of Product and Event Design.
So, I never stop working to a huge variety of projects!
I’m also a co-founder of SUPER-FROM.
How I got there? I gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Multimedia Arts – Arts Curriculum at IUAV University of Venice in 2016; then the Master’s Degree in Communication Design at PoliMi, Polytechnic University of Milan in 2019. I also spent a period abroad, thanks to the Erasmus + program, studying Multimedia Design and Sound and Image at ESAD.cr, the Art and Design headquarters of the Polytechnic of Leiria, based in Caldas da Rainha. Finally, I got my PhD in Design in 2023, at the University of Genoa.
However, I’ve been simultaneously working with photography, videomaking and social media (see a selection of projects here).
Travelling is something I can’t give up in order to improve my way of thinking and designing. It is crucial to change my mind and improve my knowledge thanks to the places I can get to know – on the other side of the world as well as a few minutes away from where I live.
